Please explain how we're protecting essential workers
Fri May 07 2021
My son is considered an essential worker. He works for minimum wage at a big box store that sells groceries. He's very careful to follow all the safety measures available to him. But he's 20 years old so not eligible for a vaccine and his underlying condition (asthma) does not make him part of a priority group. Additionally, anti-maskers regularly show up at his workplace to exercise their rights. It's scary. Very scary.
I'm not a health care professional so I wish someone could explain to me how an underlying lung condition and exposure to the population at large, who may or may not follow current public health guidelines, at his workplace doesn't warrant vaccination.
