I am an adult that lives alone. I have been finding the current restrictions making things more of a challenge. I have not been to a holiday meal over the past year. I have to rely on someone to take me to the store every month in order to do my monthly grocery shopping trip. Over the past year, I have been spending lot of my time at home playing video games since my summer activities have been cancelled.
I recently have been selected to compete in the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Kazan Russia in January 2022. As a part of being a part of the team, I will have to commit to training at least 3 times a week. Without in person fitness classes, it has been lot harder to get motivated to do my fitness independently. I participate in a weekly community virtual workout, do online fitness videos that are posted by Special Olympics Canada, and ride my bike to stay active. Since I am a high risk adult, I got my COVID Vaccine on April 18th through my local hospital. Hopefully, after I get my second dose in August, In person fitness classes will be restored.
