As a single parent of two teens with special needs and no family in the province, I started teaching them everything they needed to know to keep the house going without me. I updated my will. I knew that my teaching job could kill me and that my employers were always months behind on the science of covid infections. I finally got vaccinated because of my age. Other teachers don't know when they will get theirs. My friends at work are falling apart because of all the stress heaped on them by this and many rapid changes to how we do our jobs with no support.
