I was fired from a COVID-19 Assessment Centre for speaking to the media about PPE shortages in March 2020

Early on in the pandemic there were PPE shortages that put healthcare providers and patients at risk. In spring 2020, before the focus of Ontario government talking points shifted to how important it was to get PPE for the healthcare workers, government and hospital leaders spent weeks denying that shortages existed. Speaking to the media about the reality of the situation resulted in me being fired from the COVID-19 Assessment Centre. In the 14 months since then, there has been little improvement in pandemic leadership in Ontario.
