Working in non essential manufacturing
Wed Apr 21 2021
Partner works in one of the major car manufacturing facilities in southern Ontario. They have two plants in Cambridge and Woodstock. They receive daily/weekly email notifications of positive cases within the company - always with - ‘no known close contact.’ They have moved offices into trailers with multiple people inside. We need to really scrutinise what is absolutely essential for the next 4-8 weeks, and provide paid sick days for everyone - not just for a select few. We need to admit this has been mismanaged. Follow the lead of countries like New Zealand and have a hard lock down. Let our hospitals cope with the onslaught of covid patients. People are languishing and a sense of hopelessness is really starting to set in.
